2018 USS SIMON LAKE REUNION

The 2018 Reunion was held in the Lexington, Virginia area from September 17 through September 21, 2018.
The hotel was the Robert E. Lee Hotel in downtown Lexington.
Monday, September 17, 2018
The day was spent arriving, renewing friendships, meeting new folks and having dinner in groups.
Tuesday, September 18, 2018
After breakfast we went to the local visitor center and gathered information.
From there we set out on our own to explore the town, Washington and Lee University, and Virginia Military Institute campuses. We all met at Alumni Hall for lunch, followed by more exploring on our own.
Wednesday, September 19, 2018
After breakfast we all boarded a bus for our first road trip.
The National D Day Memorial was the first stop. Between finding good spots to relax and finding many interesting monuments, plaques and displays you could spend a whole day there.
After a wonderful lunch at Liberty Station it was onto
Natural Bridge State Park.
Thursday, September 20, 2018
After another nice breakfast at the hotel, we again boarded the bus. The first stop was the Frontier Culture Museum which was a collection of small villages showing life in Africa, Europe and America in the early to late 1700's.
After a box lunch we went onto the McCormick Wayside Museum for a brief stop to see his inventions and the effect on farming.
The Farewell dinner was held at the Sheritan Livery Inn just down the street from our hotel.
The Two Bells ceremony and business meeting followed the dinner.
